Why Business Pitching at 1 Million Cups is like a coffee grinder!
As an entrepreneur, one of the things you should master quickly is the ability to pitch your business in small rooms and large rooms.
Yes, I have spoken to rooms before and would say I am ok. There is always room for improvement. However, when it comes to pitching your business, you can always do better.
You can always make your message easier to understand and stronger.
I have never presented at 1 Million Cups before this and to be honest didn’t think much of it. However, now I have done it twice. I am SO GRATEFUL for the experience!
It is one of the best things that I have done for my business, and myself.
Here is the catch… yes, there is a catch!
As with any pitching competition or platform, there are rules to the game. Playing the game to win requires effort. Thi
You need to pitch your business in 6 minutes or less!
Can you explain your business, the team, the problem you solve, how you solve it in 6 minutes?
Can you demonstrate the size of your opportunity and enroll people in your vision and purpose? … but in 6 minutes or less?
This is the challenge… it sounds easy, but it requires work. It requires a lot of practice and effort on designing your presentation. But doing so helps you transform your marketing message. You get clear on your USP, and you learn to handle questions, challenges, and objections quickly.
One of the best things that I can say that has happened to me since I have now spoken at two of these 1 Million Cups is the networking. I have been introduced and connected with AMAZING people.
Spoke at St Petersburg, Florida, and Orlando, Florida. If you want to see my presentation for yourself, you can check it out here. https://qlcb.co/2x8TqPV
I have been given access to relationships and people that I would not have previously had access.
I have been able to practice my presentation and pitch and had it validated by hundreds of people.
I have been able to receive questions and feedback to help me optimize my presentation to make it better. This helps grow faster.
I have been able to grind my business model to improve it and make it better. Applying the lessons of people who have been there done that already. This process is extremely valuable and allows me to scale the business faster!
My words of wisdom for any entrepreneur in a startup: Put yourself out there! Submit to competitions, startup events and pitch.
Put yourself in front of people and get feedback and become great.
Share your awesome with the world!
